SCORE OFFERS FREE WORKSHOPS TO ALL
MILITARY WHO HAVE SERVED SINCE 2001
The Manchester/Nashua/Concord chapter of
SCORE, "Counselors to America's Small Business", will now offer their
small-business workshops at no cost to all personnel who have served on active
duty in the armed forces since 2001. These practical "how-to" workshops cover a
variety of subjects of interest to those wishing to start small businesses or
strengthen existing ones.
The program was announced by
Herk Streitburger of Bedford, a World War Two veteran who spent time in a German
POW camp. Streitburger explained that "SCORE is a volunteer association and part
of the SBA. As such we provide absolutely free business counseling -- that's our
primary task. But our Merrimack Valley chapter, like other chapters, has to
charge a fee for its workshops to help defray costs. We hope this no-fee program
is one small way we can show our appreciation to those who served in these
difficult areas".
"We serve an area from
Manchester down the river valley to the Massachusetts border but anyone is
eligible to attend our workshops" he continued. "Just visit our website
for information or call the chapter at 666-7561. Tell us you served on active
duty anytime from 2001 on, and you're registered, at no cost."
